Skull Head Halloween Candles

Skulls built for the last week of October. Each head is a glazed ceramic vessel — orange, purple, green, pink, yellow and white — poured with a nutmeg scent that reads as autumn rather than costume-shop candy. Large heads anchor a porch step or a party table on their own; the small ones line up well along a windowsill or a bar, and a mixed row of colours looks better than a matched pair.

The ceramic outlives the wax, so people tend to keep the head and re-use it for pens, matches or next year's decorating.
