Musical Candles

Lift one of these and it plays. The music box sits beneath a hand-poured vessel, so the candle behaves like any other candle while the base does something nobody expects — candy corn and black candy corn for October, slate Hanukkah designs, and winter holiday vessels for the rest of the year. They are the gift people pick up and show someone else, which is a rare thing for a candle.

Because the mechanism lives underneath, burn them level and let the first burn pool right to the edge; the candle care guide explains how. The wax itself is all-natural rather than paraffin, for the reasons set out in our paraffin-free piece.
